An exhilarating comedy, exploring the dangers of mismanaged love, the excitement of first desire and the blurred line between dreams and reality.
A father threatens his daughter with death if she refuses to marry the man he has chosen for her. A Duke has conquered his future bride by force. The King and Queen of the Fairies are locked in a bitter dispute over the custody of a child. Meanwhile, two young lovers flee into the Athenian forest in pursuit of their desires, while a group of craftsmen rehearse a play for the Duke’s wedding.
As their stories collide in the forest, mischievous fairies unleash a world of enchantment, confusion and comic misunderstandings. Nothing is quite what it seems—and by the end of the night, every heart has been transformed, giving rise to a new harmony.
